The Freightliner M2-106 is renowned for its versatile, durable construction, excellent maneuverability, various engine configurations, and extensive safety features, making it ideal for diverse applications. This crew-cab model features a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six engine paired with a 6-speed Allison automatic transmission and a dual rear axle with a lockable differential. It is finished with a flatbed platform, integrated headache rack, and storage compartments. The cab includes front captain’s chairs and a rear bench upholstered in black leather with diamond-pattern accents, a “starlight” headliner, and a touchscreen head unit with a backup camera. Additional features include 22.5″ American Racing alloy wheels, a vertical exhaust stack, a Buckstop Truckware front bumper, an X-Metal grille, air conditioning, cruise control, a gooseneck hitch, a receiver hitch, and more. With approximately 83k miles on the odometer, this Freightliner is available for auction by its seller out of California.

The cab and bed are finished in white, complemented by a black-finished Buckstop Truckware front bumper and X-Metal grille. The truck reportedly departed the factory as an unfinished crew-cab chassis and subsequently fitted with a flatbed platform with an integrated headache rack, storage compartments, and lighting. A single vertical exhaust stack exits behind the cab, and a gooseneck hitch is fitted below the bed floor. Additional equipment includes a windshield visor, smoked headlamp lenses, clearance lights, LED bed lamps, side steps, rear mud flaps, and a receiver hitch. It rides on black-finished 22.5” American Racing ATX alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone R250 front tires and Dynatrac DT320 rear tires, all bearing 2019 date codes. The seller reports minor rock chips and scratches to the exterior but assures the paint is in otherwise good condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features adjustable front captain’s chairs and a rear bench upholstered in black leather adorned with diamond-pattern centers and contrasting stitching. A Rolls Royce-sourced “starlight” headliner has been fitted with approximately 1,500 RGB LEDs, along with an aftermarket touchscreen head unit, backup camera, and speakers. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and Redline floor mats. The four-spoke steering wheel is paired with a dash-mounted push-button shift selector. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be working properly.

Power comes from a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six, driving the rear wheels through an Allison 6-speed automatic transmission and dual rear axle with a lockable differential. Air brakes facilitate braking power. The seller notes that the vehicle recently received a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) service, followed by fluids and rear brake line replacement under the recommendation of the PPI.

This sale will include a title.

The seller would like you to know: “This truck has been used for the past 3 years under our ownership we have used it to promote our business. It has been to several local events and parades and gets a lot of attention! Everything has been very well maintained the truck is very well kept with only 83k miles, it is carb-compliant in all 50 states, and the truck needs nothing but a new home! Feel free to contact me with any questions.”

I have owed two of these Freightliner Sport Chassis I pulled three different trailers hauling collector cars and race cars I replaced a Ford 350 and Ford 450 with these trucks Three things I can tell you. The Sportchassis could easily pull a 48 foot or Stacker trailer with two cars in either one Going over Mount Mitchell in TN it never bogged down or slowed Second, its not the pulling power that is most important, its being able to stop when the trailer brakes go out, which happened to me in the Ford 450 as I was exiting an interstate while pulling a 48 ft trailer with two cars in trailer - got pushed right through intersection and was extremely lucky not to create a huge accident. Thats what prompted me to buy my first Sportchassis The Sportchassis could stop a two car trailer when the trailer brakes go out for whatever reason. The third reason you will love this truck is manuverability, it would turn inside my Ford 250 or even my friends half ton pickups BOTTOM LINE, if you are pulling a two car or other large trailer these vehicles are the safest and best way to go. One last point, both units I owned got about 8 mpg no matter where I drove or with or without a fully loaded trailer. I live in Atlanta, have no idea who is selling this vehicle, and I’m 73 so I am slowing down or I would bid on this. I have no connection to this sell, but having owned two of these and trailered usually show cars all over the country I thought my experience would be informative

No issues being a >1 ton truck and modified bed in CA? Someone told me you need to go commercial without a pickup bed? Need to do some digging in morning.

I guess my biggest question is are there any CA issues causing you to sell or me to own?

  • Dluxor1 (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

If you would like to come see the truck in person you are more than welcome, it’s located in Livermore ca. Feel free to reach out.

  • Dluxor1 (seller) 1 week, 5 daysago

@hudd07 just uploaded the PPI feel free to take a look, there has never any damage to the truck. That was when the bed was installed, carfax considers it a structural alteration and classifies it as a “damage report”.

Hi, sorry I’m late to this. Just saw this beauty in my email. Can you upload the PPI and comment on the damage entry on carfax 3/4/21? I’m local in Bay Area.

No problem, this is equipped with a hitch to tow a 5th wheel (please refer to photos). Towing capacity is 26,000 pounds it is equipped with a Cummins isb13 engine still waiting to hear back on exact torque and hp figures so I can accurately answer that question. It has 2 tanks that hold a combined 100 gallons of fuel, your burn rate really depends on what your towing would be really hard to say, that being said we never towed anything with this vehicle just used it for advertising.

Hi Guys. Please pardon if these are basic questions. I just don't know this rig. It is NOT setup to tow a 5th wheel??? Can that be added? What is the towing capacity? Engine hp/torque please? How much fuel does it hold and roughly what is your burn rate while towing? Thanks so much.
