Introduced in 2009, the second-generation Cadillac CTS-V quickly earned a place on Car and Driver's 10 Best Cars list, featuring a supercharged LSA V8 engine, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and Brembo brakes. This 2011 example is a non-sunroof Wagon finished in Black Raven over an Ebony leather interior and was reportedly utilized by GM as one of two press/demo track cars that debuted at the Monticello Motor Club in New York. Fortified with a replacement engine, this CTS-V is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of South Carolina with approximately 67k miles showing on the odometer.

Finished in Black Raven, the non-sunroof CTS-V is distinguishable from the standard CTS by its bold styling cues including a revised bumper and front lip, aggressive side skirts, and a rear spoiler. Equipment includes adaptive HID headlights, fog lights, mesh grille inserts, LED taillights, a rear window wiper, rear parking sensors, and polished exhaust outlets. It rides on silver-finished 19” wheels. The seller notes some rock chips, a slight scrape on the driver’s side front lip, edge separation on the rear bumper trim, a small bubble on the grille, and a slight separation of the taillight tips from the body. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.

The cabin is upholstered in Ebony leather and Microsuede upholstery with optional Recaro power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a keyless start switch, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, Rear Park Assist, a backup camera, cruise control, navigation, and a Bose sound system with Bluetooth and satellite radio compatibility. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to function as intended, apart from the passenger seat recliner, the passenger airbag light illuminating intermittently, and occasional static on the backup camera. The seller also notes a slight scratch on the armrest and minimal wear on the floor mats.

Powered by a replacement supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine, up to 556 HP and 551 lb.-ft. of torque is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 6-speed automatic transmission. Braking is handled by Brembo discs with 6-piston front calipers, and the suspension features Magnetic Ride Control that uses electronically controlled shocks to provide a smooth, responsive ride. This wagon is said to have been used by GM as a press/demo/track car until it clocked approximately 7,600 miles, at which point it was removed from the program, given a brand-new engine, rear differential, and axles, and subsequently sold off warranty to its first private owner. The CARFAX report lists the car as a rebuilt title at this time. Additionally, the GM factory race team is said to have modified this car with a transmission cooler, and the seller reports to have added a new Cadillac mini mag spare with a jack that includes a spacer allowing it to fit all four wheels, as well as a place holder in the rear of the car. The seller adds that the solid isolator coupler on the supercharger needs to be replaced, and recent maintenance included replacing the fuel pump in February 2021.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire & jack, an air pump, a car cover, and a rebuilt title.

The seller would like you to know: “In 2011, GM debuted this very V wagon at the Monticello Motor Club in New York as a demo/press/track car. GM transported it out west as well to share some time at Spring Mountain Motor Resort outside Las Vegas. It was one of two V wagons released by GM's Vehicle Manager, Carl Fuderer, into the program (who I have spoken with several times prior to purchase and have an inch-and-a-half thick brag book with program verification and track records). GM fine-tuned it along the way adding a factory-installed transmission cooler. Alex Wolenski, COO at Monticello Motor Club told me each time GM tweaked the wagon, it came back with faster track times. At approximately 7600 miles the factory brought the car off the program, put a brand-new engine in it along with rear diff and axles, and offered it for sale off warranty. Mario, who was a V wagon fanatic (he owned 2 at the same time), was the first official private owner near Venice, Florida. I purchased it from him in 2016 and it has lived and been serviced here in the southern town of Greenville, SC ever since. Regularly scheduled maintenance performed with records. The fuel pump was replaced in February 2021. Recaro seats have NO slack or play and run very smoothly. One note below on the passenger recline function. The vehicle has been insured with Auto-Owners since 2016 with an accepted $50,000 value based on documentation. V wagons were released with a place for a spare but only included an electric pump to keep weight down. I have purchased a brand-new Cadillac spare and jack which is included in the purchase. This vehicle is a hard-to-find "slick top" intentionally built without the sunroof to lower weight. Front control arms are squeak-FREE! The vehicle has been garaged in the South for the vast majority of its life. We washed it weekly; waxed it twice a year and clay-barred it annually. Known issues: The solid isolator coupler on the supercharger needs replacement, tips of the taillights have slightly separated from the body (a common issue on 95% of all wagons. I fixed the driver’s side with a paper-thin "S" shaped clip that held for almost 4 years). The passenger airbag light intermittently illuminates due to a short in the pressure pad under the passenger seat. The recline on the passenger seat will go back but not forward. Both can be corrected with passenger seat removal. The backup camera occasionally gets static across the image. 4k camera switch out is what most V owners use to overcome static and provide higher resolution.”

Yes, I believe it goes into the deal tank at end of auction today. I think you have to reach out to PCM to get in touch with me directly to negotiate. I’ll reach out to them and ask how they want to proceed as well.

Beautiful car. Great history. Ill bet being a demo it had seen some real adventures. And given that what may have bore the brunt of the demos wear has been replaced. This Cadi will continue on for years. I'ld really like to get in on this one. If it doesn't hit the reserve, will it be straight listed?

@vitti821 Thanks for your well thought input... it was super encouraging and I'm sure we'll get what we're asking.

@theyear69 couldn’t find a way to reach out to them, I don’t think it will do more money here to be honest.

  • theyear69 (seller) 1 weekago

@vitti821 yes it is. It got very close to the reserve, but didn’t quite hit it. With a little more flexibility one of the two bidders below the highest, probably would’ve hit it based on comments

This the one that was just on cars and bids?

Hi everyone, welcome to the auction. My name is Jason and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the V wagon. This vehicle has an incredibly unique story and pedigree told in the seller would like you to know section. It's a dream to drive... handles like a Porsche, accelerates like a Lambo and can haul more stuff than you could put in either of those cars combined. Yes, it is large enough to fit a twin mattress in for camping.
