Representing Lotus’ pinnacle of high performance, the S260 Sport variant of the Exige S garnered acclaim for its precision-tuned chassis, exceptional steering feel, and sheer driving pleasure. Powered by a replacement 1.8-liter 2ZZ-GE inline-four engine built by BOE Fabrication and mated to a 6-speed manual transmission from Transaxle Engineering, this 2010 example was assembled by VSA Motorsports for the Lotus Cup USA racing series and saw full seasons of competition in 2011 and 2012 before being acquired by the owner in 2020 for track days. It is finished in white and black adorned with livery and features a carbon fiber clamshell cover, roof, and chassis-mounted GT rear wing as well as a rear diffuser, roll cage, carbon fiber racing seat, Pilbeam pedal box, fire suppression system, two-way communications, three cameras, a Coolshirt Pro system, and more. This track-focused Exige is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado.

This example showcases a white and black finish adorned with sponsor decals from the Lotus Cup USA series. Paint protection film has been applied to the clamshells, doors, and roof. Various aerodynamic enhancements have been made to achieve a stated weight of 1,779 pounds, including VSA Motorsports lightweight doors and quick-release clams, a carbon fiber clamshell cover, a chassis-mounted carbon fiber GT rear wing, factory Exige 260S carbon fiber components, carbon fiber headlight/turn signal deletes, side scoops, access panels, and race mirrors, IMRP side skirts, a Difflow rear diffuser, a carbon fiber 211 splitter and spoiler, and a polycarbonate windshield. It rides on staggered 16” and 17” Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.4G wheels fitted with older racing tires, and an additional set of wheels is provided with the sale. Detailed images are included in the gallery, along with a clean CARFAX report.

The interior has undergone extensive modification, with the removal of HVAC components to accommodate a VSA Motorsports roll cage featuring a window net, a Reverie twin-skin carbon fiber racing seat, and a Lotus/Pilbeam pedal box. It also houses a Motorola two-way communication system, and a 24-quart Coolshirt Pro setup, with an included black 2Cool shirt in large size. Replacing the stock analog instrumentation is a Pi Research Omega D2 digital dash, offering real-time vehicle data with logging. Additional features include a Sparco quick-release steering wheel, a SPA AFFF cabin, and an engine fire suppression system. The seller adds that a ChaseCam DIVA four-channel system with three cameras is installed, although it may not be functional.

Built by BOE Fabrication, the 1.8-liter Toyota 2ZZ-GE inline-four engine features Arias 11.5:1 forged pistons, Ferrea valves, springs, and retainers, and a dry-sump oil system, having replaced the original engine after the 2012 Lotus Cup season. Tuned to comply with Lotus Cup USA regulations, the power output is approximately 245 HP and delivered to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission, which was sourced from Transaxle Engineering in Chatsworth, California, incorporating a helical fourth gear from SSC, while a Clutch Masters single-plate clutch and an OS Giken limited-slip differential have been installed. Additional performance enhancements include a VSA Motorsports radiator, BOE Fabrication engine mounts, a Harmon fuel cell, and a PPE header connected to a racing exhaust system. Notable modifications include a wheel stud conversion, AP Racing four-piston front and two-piston rear brake calipers with dual master cylinders, Öhlins HRC 36 dampers, a Sector111 2.2 racing steering rack, and a Sector111 RTD brace. This vehicle has been utilized during the 2011 and 2012 Lotus Cup seasons and part of the 2014 season. The seller adds that all upgrades and modifications were performed under previous ownership, and the battery should be kept on a tender and may require replacement soon.

This sale will include a spare set of wheels, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "It's a great race car, but it's a race car so it's not perfect!"

@Havenhearth This car is not street legal. It does not have headlights, turn signals, or an emission system, and currently has race use only tires installed. I suppose the expense will greatly depend on the state you live in and what is required there for a vehicle to be considered street legal. This vehicle does come with a title though which is a big step in the process of converting a race use vehicle into a street legal vehicle.

  • Havenhearth (registered bidder) 1 weekago

    Is this car street legal?

Or could it be Made street legal without ridiculous expense?

    Thank you,
    David

@siliev1991 I'm about 5'9, and the biggest struggle is getting in, but once you're in there its not to tight. I would say if you were 6 foot or less no problem. Over that with a helmet on maybe a bit tight.

How tall of a driver would fit in this car?
