Combining naturally aspirated performance with the body styling, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo, the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S has gained a following among enthusiasts. This 2003 example is finished in Carrara White over a Savanna Beige leather interior and was configured at an original sticker price exceeding $96k. In addition to the optional 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission, the BOSE High-End Sound Package, and more, it was appointed with Exclusive options including a thicker leather steering wheel, instrument dials in the interior color, wheel spacers, and body-colored Sport Seat backs, center console, and wheels with matching center caps. This C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing less than 17k miles on the odometer.

The Carrera 4S benefits from wider fenders than a standard Carrera as well as Turbo-style bumpers and a unique reflector band spanning between the taillights. This 996 is finished in Carrara White and features red Porsche-branded brake calipers along with optional stainless steel exhaust pipes, 17mm wheel spacers, and body-colored 18” Sport Techno wheels with matching center caps. The seller notes some paint blemishes on the wheels and states that the car was tapped lightly in the rear at a stoplight, with no damage occurring, however, a report was filed anyway. The CARFAX report lists minor damage in February 2023 and detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is upholstered in Savanna Beige full leather and features optional Sport seats with painted seat backs and Porsche-crested headrests. Additional options include a painted rear center console, the BOSE High-End Sound Package, instrument dials in interior color, and a thicker leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, steering wheel shift buttons, and power seats. The seller reports all gauges, electronics, and accessories to be in working order, with no warning lights present.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine, the 996 C4S sends up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic S transmission. The seller notes that the car was serviced annually, including a service in June of 2023 that consisted of an oil change, an ethanol fuel treatment, and an inspection of the belts, fluids, oil, wipers, windshield cracks, leaks, exhaust, steering, shocks, tubes, struts, brakes, and tires.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a bra, side view mirror covers, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I bought this ultra-low mileage 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S with an automatic Tiptronic transmission from Porsche South Shore in NY. Finished in Carrara White and Beige interior and white trim, it has a total of 16, 450 miles. Stored in a climate-controlled garage it is in excellent condition throughout. The interior shows no wear and appears to be virtually brand new. The exterior is perfect with only some of the wheels needing a re-paint. Certified pre-owned- Porsche South Shore changed the wipers, tires, and rubber tubing to ensure I would have no problems driving it home- It was stored in temperature-controlled storage. It has been driven occasionally and let loose on the I95!!! Impeccably maintained. An especially unique Porsche-ONLY 1 was made in the color white and with this build....way unique!!! Introduced for the 1999 model year, Porsche’s 996-generation 911 marked the first time the marque’s iconic model utilized a water-cooled engine configuration. It was risky, though altogether necessary transition for Porsche to make due to ever-increasing power gains which were being realized by their competitors, together with stricter emissions standards. The marque’s initial water-cooled production engine was developed from the Hans Metzger-designed blueprint found in its famous homologation special, the 911 GT1 released in 1997. While the silhouette of the type 996 carried on the traditional look of the 911, designer Grant Larson introduced several significant updates that included a more aggressively raked windscreen, a completely retrimmed interior, and a new headlight design. In 2002, Porsche introduced the 911 Carrera 4S, an all-wheel-drive variant that borrowed the wide-body look, as well as the brakes, front fascia, and suspension of the contemporaneous 911 Turbo. By 2003, this exceptional American market Carrera 4S had been delivered to its first owner. The model’s water-cooled engine had increased in size to 3.6 liters of displacement and was further updated with a new crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, “VarioCam Plus” adjustable valve timing, Lokasil-treated cylinders, and Bosch Motronic ME 7.8 engine management system. Delivered new to El Paso, TX on 10 May 2003, this Carrera 4S is made evermore notable on account of its desirable and extensive specification. Its long list of factory equipment listed on an accompanying Porsche build report includes Carrara White paint over a Savanna Beige leather interior, elective removal of the sunroof, Tiptronic S transmission, 18-inch Techno Sport wheels, and stainless-steel exhaust system. Stepping across the Carrera-inscribed door sills, it is plain to see that the car’s interior is richly furnished with comfort-spec power seats featuring headrests embroidered with the Porsche crest, as well as a special-order trim package which added white painted interior-and-beige leather finishes to the gear selector, handbrake lever, and center console. Occupants are also sure to benefit from the electronic climate control, remote six-disc CD changer, and Bose sound system. Since being bought it has been sparingly used. It currently indicates just 16,500 miles at the time of cataloging and would be a tremendous, accessible offering for the Porsche enthusiast looking to experience a surefooted, naturally aspirated 996 for themselves. Annual service June 23rd, 2023. PASSED 14-Multi-Point Inspection with flying colors!!! Oil change and Ethanol Fuel Treatment. See attached pic of Service Summary. Belts, Fluids, Oil, Wipers, Windshield Cracks, Leaks, Exhaust, Steering, Shocks, Tubes, Struts, Brakes, and Tires were all checked during this Inspection. Excellent Condition. Tires, Coolant Tubes, and others, including belts all redone when I purchased and picked it up in 2016- certified per-owned you could say. Since stored in a climate-controlled space and now covered in my attached garage- hasn't succumbed to nature's elements.”

Really just to echo @alanSD114 ‘s comment. I just called my local porsche service dept and they give me parameters of $4-5k for the full IMS (premptive surgery kit).

  • AlanSD114 (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

@Ravenna45 I am driving a 2000 boxster S with 76000 miles,My certfied Porsche tech checks the oi every oil change,,,, no metal shown,
its a worry but he says he rarely sees ims issues on 60,000 mile plus cars.On the 996 i'd be banking 4-5 grand in case,,, insurance policy.

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

@Ravenna45 I think you've summed my car up in an excellent way. Again, no body damage except for the tap of the rear bumper cones....IMS Bearings...some minor scrapes of the wheels...nature of driving a car and the hood shocks....but these are minor fixes to a 21 year old car that otherwise is like new. And, let the next owner address. If not, then maybe I will address them since they are minor and recommended during its next service appointment. Again - thank you for those who appreciate the beauty of this 996 and their comments and questions.

  • Ravenna45 (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

My last 2 cents. I think this is a worthy car. If the owner decided it was not necessary to have the IMS bearings replaced that was his choice. I'm sure his mechanic would have mentioned if there were any signs of metal chards in the oil, the tell-tale signs. Frankly, I wouldn't drive the car around the block without that being done. The chance of a catastrophic event is too great for me, I've known of too many engines that needed to be replaced. I could not find anyone that will replace the IMS for less than $2500 most want more. I believe the rear end damage was as stated although some paint meter readings of the engine deck lid and rear 1/4 panels would have alleviated any concerns. You also have a couple of wheel scrapes that may need refinished, and hood shocks that may need replacing. Just figure these items into your bidding. One cannot deny the beauty of this car.

Again, there is no damage to the car.....it was totally inspected.

Bid in the amount of $22,000

  • Havenhearth (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

    Hello again, Soleman,

First, let me say that I think this 996 is Very handsome. My earnest question about "windshield cracks", however, was Not about another car, please see the following quote copied directly from this PCM listing:

“...a service in June of 2023 that consisted of an oil change, an ethanol fuel treatment, and an inspection of the belts, fluids, oil, wipers, *windshield cracks*, leaks, exhaust, steering, shocks, tubes, struts, brakes, and tires.”

Before you flag a poster’s sincere question as “not constructive”, would it be respectful to ask Them a question about what they meant and why, instead of condescending? With all the respect that your response allows for, I did NOT misrepresent your listing, and it was in No Way my intention to degrade your car or you in any way whatsoever.

I would observe that your reactivity prevented you from responding to my very clear and non-judgemental question about the seats in the car. It is clear from the photographs that they have Adaptive Sport Seat backs. What is not stated in the listing, nor in your disrespectful response to my sincere questions about the car is whether the seats are a) heated b) ventilated c) both or d) neither.

Is it asking too much to request this information again?

I am simply interested in learning about the automobile’s specifications, not in getting into a personality conflict.

If you are interested to sell this car, I, again with all respect that your response merits, request an answer to the questions posed, the information of which is Nowhere to be seen in this listing. The fault may well not be yours, but the answers remain unavailable. I’m sure I am not the only potential buyer who would wish to know this information.

I’m simply requesting information that was not provided in the write-up.

I was Most Civil in my inquiry, thanking you for your time and for your assistance. I hope you honor me with similar respect in your next response.

    Thank you,

    David

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

I have flagged the most recent comment as not constructive - as his questions have no relevance to my car and condition...someone either confused with another listing or someone trying to influence other buyers/collectors...

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

@Havenhearth You clearly have the wrong car: my car does not have any cracks.....this car has no body damage including the windows....where are you getting this info? Seats are normal....everything is in the listing.

  • Havenhearth (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

    Hello Seller,

You mention windshield cracks in the recent inspection.

Please say more about that. Is the current windshield cracked? Has it been replaced due to cracks in the past?

And after reading the listing twice I see no mention of the seats’ specification. Are they heated, heated and ventilated, or neither?

Thank you in advance for your time and for your assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    David

Good luck to the winner of my 996 9114S - she's a beauty and ready for her new home...Thank you for the great questions: I hope I was able to answer them ....there is literally not one scratch on this car in and out. I spent a lot of time researching this model make and year with this build and the white/beige interior...she stands out amongst the crowd...like one bidder said, "one of the nicest 996's he's ever seen- and I agree. Good Night!! Soleman

@AnyOldIron Lid shocks not yet done:

Since it has also been verifiably documented that some IMS bearings have failed after just 3,000 miles, while others still have lasted for 200,000 miles or more: $1500-$3000 replacement cost.

  • AnyOldIron (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

Picture # 62 shows service recommendation “needs new front lid shocks”. Seller, were those done? Also, as the car has its original bearing, can anyone suggest what pre-emptive replacement will cost on this? Thanks all.

@AlanSD114 Exactly why I bought not just for the year, color and interior, but because of the Tiptronic. My first car was a 1971 911T- I bought in 1986....having it at UCLA was crazy...having to clutch in traffic for hours- forget it- I wanted automatic. And just go...................................

  • AlanSD114 (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

I really like the white and the tip for me is a bonus long time 911 owner, inability to shift manual due to disabiliy,

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

@Ravenna45 No - leave that decision up to the lucky winner......

  • qubilist (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

About to ask the same question as Ravenna45 about IMS. Probably one of the nicest 996's I've seen.

  • Ravenna45 (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

I'm glad we are past the flooding and rear end damage questions. One other did come to mind. It seems no one has asked about the IMS bearing. I know it is quite a task because the engine and tranny need to come down at some expense as it is a Tiptronic. Has that been done?

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@AnyOldIron Yes -I don't live in a flood zone and moreover it is stored on the 3rd floor of my attached garage....I ordered Doordash that day - don't believe 99% of what the media says....isolated low lying areas in North Miami -Fort Lauderdale not where I live.

  • AnyOldIron (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Genuine question about the intense rain / flooding in Miami right now. Can seller confirm and state here for all that the car has not been impacted by this in anyway.

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

    @AnyOldIron maybe you??? We'll see....

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@AnyOldIron yes and if there is a smart buyer out there with taste - the reserve is well below what it really is worth-I've had offers way higher- so I know its sweet spot. My Porsche w this build and its meticulous condition (both in and out)- the person will be a "lucky winner"....That person is out there - I don't count chickens anymore- That phase is over- just want someone to enjoy her- My first was a 71' 911T.....when I was 18 years old.....

  • AnyOldIron 1 week, 3 daysago

Bid in the amount of $17,500

  • AnyOldIron (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

@Soleman lucky winner….. don’t count your chickens mate. There is a reserve.

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@Ravenna45 rear bumper rubber cones protected the rest of car and was light and repelled.....no shop service - no repaints - no invoice - no damage....very safe car- and they should have kept these rubber cone bumpers.....makes this car even better and safer ....

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

And the engine video was taken last week....view it - no damage......hope this helps.

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@Soleman refer to video walk around as well ..that was done a few months ago.

  • Soleman (seller) 1 week, 3 daysago

@Ravenna45 no damage : tapped my bumper....see the rear pics...nothing to really report, but I did have to file a police report: I just play by the rules...so there was no need for repairs to the car. And car was serviced after the in June of 2023. And that inspection which is attached passed its 14 point inspection.

  • Ravenna45 (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Could you be kind enough to delineate the trauma to the rear of this Porsche? Was the rear bumper the only area involved? Was the rear deck painted or either of the rear 1/4 panels?
Do you happen to have the body shop invoice?
