First introduced in late 1996 as Porsche’s flagship mid-engine roadster, the Boxster has earned recognition among enthusiasts for its agile performance and exciting driving experience. This first-generation 1998 example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Savanna Beige partial leather interior and equips 17” Twist alloy wheels, traction control with anti-slip regulation, an automatic braking differential, steering wheel-mounted Tiptronic buttons, heated seats, a HiFi sound system, and more. Showing approximately 52k miles on the odometer, this 986 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania.
This example comes finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black convertible soft top and a body-color removable hard top. Other details include silver-painted front grilles, integrated side air intakes, roll hoops, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a central exhaust outlet. It rides on optional 17” Twist alloy wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Savannah Beige partial leather upholstery complemented with black accents along the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels. Optional equipment includes heated seats, steering wheel-mounted Tiptronic shift buttons, and the HiFi sound system. Other features include automatic climate control, power windows, power seats, and Porsche-branded floor mats.
Mounted behind the driver is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-six engine rated at 201 HP and 181 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a Tiptronic automatic transmission and stopping power is handled by 4-piston fixed aluminum monobloc brake calipers on all four corners. This Boxster was also optioned with an Automatic Braking Differential (ABD) and traction control with Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR). The seller adds that the mass airflow sensor was replaced in May 2023.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, sales literature, and some service documentation.
