The seller would like you to know: “Don't miss this opportunity to purchase what some would consider the best performance spec for the last of the NA 991.1 convertibles! This is a rebuilt salvage which means it can be registered in any state without additional scrutiny, just like a clean title vehicle. While you never find out much history of a salvage vehicle, it is not a collision car, not a flood. It was listed as run & drive, and my educated guess is that the previous owner left the top down outside in a storm, and the insurance company decided against spending the $$$ estimate from the local Porsche dealer for the repair. I know door panels, leather seat covers, etc. were part of that estimate. I had a Burmester amp expert repair the amp (under the passenger seat), which showed a small amount of water infiltration on one corner, though the recess it is located in under the seat was completely dry. That was the only repair needed related to the salvage auction. I have seen no evidence that the car has seen any paintwork. Other maintenance, repairs, and upgrades are listed separately.”

Can you describe the interior some more given you think the car was left exposed to some sort of water event - rain, thunderstorm etc ? How are the interior surfaces v. Is the leather drained, discolored, wrinkled ? Are the dash and door panels warped, pulling away etc ? Do all gauges, electrical etc work properly ?
Thx
Bid in the amount of $10,000
Is the car available for a PPI?
Has the car passed CT emissions test after it was declared a loss?
When were photos 136-147 taken?
Do you have additional information as to the reason the car was reported as a total loss?
@Hotwheeljohn I just read the listing more carefully - this makes more sense now.
In the 991.1, on the PDK in the center console, Porsche, for some reason, had + as the push towards the dash, and - as the pull from the dash, which is reverse from most racecars and logic, really.
When you're braking hard, instinct is to hit the shifter forward to drop gears. It appears the current owner rectified Porsche's gaff and reversed it, making it correct.
PDK is great in these cars - opens it up to be a grand tourer and highway rush hour car, too.
I love everything about 991 911s. I'll be watching this.
@Hotwheeljohn They rectified it in the later gens. Likely was a packaging decision under the skin.
I agree about the PDK a comment, but that color is so nice, I will be watching this one. Trying to understand the reasoning behind reversing the PDK shift pattern. If someone can explain the benefits/ logic behind this, I’d love to learn this tidbit. Car is not w/o some significant drawbacks, but at the right price might be on y radar.
Why did it have to be PDK :( Such a nice example otherwise.
