  • FirstFlatSix (registered bidder) 10 hours, 50 minutesago

@repeter I don't think anyone is questioning the super unique option list on this car. What is being questioned is "This is a one-of-a-kind 996 Carrera 4 that was Exclusively built by Porsche for the German GT3 presentation"
    vs
This is the coolest spec 996 C4 on the planet
    Can you see the difference?

  • repeter 10 hours, 55 minutesago

I think photo #141 answers this discussion, that is quite an extensive factory option list.

  • ProducerJohn (registered bidder) 11 hours, 1 minuteago

@Monnaie Really? That's your takeaway here? Besides, this isn't about my clone listing. It's that you as a buyer should be highly suspect of any claims that are not substantiated in writing from a reputable and verifiable source.

  • curiousoffice (registered bidder) 11 hours, 3 minutesago

@Monnaie I suspect @producerjohn comment/question was more about whether or not this is an official Porsche GT3 press/marketing car. I think that's what bidders (myself included) are trying to figure out since that's what was presented. Since this story was presented as such, I'm hopeful someone can step forward with those details because I'm interested.

  • Monnaie 11 hours, 10 minutesago

@ProducerJohn Are you comparing your Frankenstein to this car with factory options?

I sold my 03 GT3 Clone on this platform a few years ago and it had all the badging on the carpet, dash, gauges, sills, everything. Just because it looks original, doesn't mean it is. Gotta have hard proof. https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2003-porsche-911-carrera-gt3-clone/

  • Flat993 (seller) 11 hours, 45 minutesago

@Utahcraft It doesn't have rear seats, so it all looks original

  • Flat993 (seller) 11 hours, 49 minutesago

@Utahcraft This is how we acquired the car, but all looks original. Rear badging obviously would be easy to put on, but the inside badging looks all original with carpeting

  • Victoronline 11 hours, 51 minutesago

@curiousoffice only thing i know is what i read.. which owned who owned it first! i certainly dont know history, and do not claim or make up what i think it was! I dont state my opinions as facts! And dont think anyone should...

  • Utahcraft (registered bidder) 11 hours, 53 minutesago

    @Flat993
Can you address the exterior and interior GT3 badging? Who did that and when? Was it done at the factory? Would there have been an option code for that?

  • curiousoffice (registered bidder) 11 hours, 57 minutesago

@Victoronline You are 100% correct that Porsche AG is noted. But help potential buyers understand what that means because this seems to be what bidders are trying to understand before the auction closes.

  • Flat993 (seller) 11 hours, 57 minutesago

@Acar It's on our showroom floor, the car is clean all over, no rust, doesnt leak. We never dry iced it.

  • Acar (registered bidder) 12 hours, 2 minutesago

Can you state and let me know the condition of the engine base and under the car? Any oil leak or rusted ?

  • Victoronline 12 hours, 2 minutesago

@curiousoffice @quaz by the registration below, it looks like that “someone”, is Porsche AG.
@seller you gotta have a lot of patience for this! Seems like everyone has an opinion… #experts

  • Flat993 (seller) 12 hours, 13 minutesago

@Acar I'm away from the car currently, and won't be able to upload before the end of the auction. sorry for the inconvenience.

  • curiousoffice (registered bidder) 12 hours, 15 minutesago

Yes @quaz. Someone ordered a heavily specced car here with a high MSRP. That order may have been a Porsche executive. The parts noted were available for order at the time.

  • Acar (registered bidder) 12 hours, 34 minutesago

Hello Seller, is there a pictures of under the car? Engine ect...?

  • Flat993 (seller) 14 hours, 57 minutesago

@quaz Thanks for you interest. This car was manufactured in 2/99, and registered in 6/99 (see first registration)

  • quaz 15 hours, 35 minutesago

This is an absolutely awesome car and spec. However some reality has set in after looking through the docs. It is very common in Germany for all managers and above at Porsche or Porsche suppliers to have a new car as a company car. It is part of their annual compensation package. More than likely this was an exec at Porsche that speced this car as their personal driver. The speculation on the press GT3 status needs some type of documentation. It may be true and is a great story, but there are MK1.1 GT3s with 8/99 registration dates as well that I have seen for sale recently. So the GT3 was already in production when this car was made. However that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is an absolutely fantastic car. It will be very interesting to see where the bidding ends on this one.

  • curiousoffice (registered bidder) 15 hours, 58 minutesago

Just a suggestion. Someone should reach out to Ossmann Classic Cars. See if they remember the car and backstory. You will note that they are the earliest maintenance stamps in the service booklet outside of Porsche.

    Good Morning Everyone,
We are winding down into the final hours of this unique 996 auction!
We appreciate all the interest that this one-of-a- kind auto has generated. Just wanted to recap what we have here... This is what Porsche AG Specked out for their GT3 Presentation, this is how they saw the car being presented, NOT someone else's vision of what a GT3 should be! Everything on this car is Factory built, everything on this car works as it should. Not sure how many times you get to obtain a piece of Porsche's history.

    - Please make sure to refresh your web browser before the end of the auction. We wouldn’t want you to be off of the auction clock timer. The clock resets for every bid under 2 minutes to make it fair for everyone. No need to wait to bid!
-We will be monitoring the comment section, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Hi @seller very neat example - I translated most of the documents but could not find anything specifically saying it was owned by Porsche AG and internally configured as a preview vehicle for the upcoming 911 GT3. Do you have anymore proof to substantiate the story? Thank you.

@Maxoverdrive Thanks for the kind words, we love this car! The only resprayed parts are the front bumper and hood (from chips). No other panel has paintwork. The card in the radio is the sim card for the phone (good old days!). The windshield, might just be dirty, i dont recall scratches, but will confirm Monday. It definitely doesnt look like its ever been tracked.

  • Maxoverdrive (registered bidder) 4 days, 9 hoursago

Hi, Couple of questions. In pic 28 the windshield appears scratched/sandblasted which is common on factory promotional cars since they see a lot of track time, can you verify if it is scratched ? Can you explain the card in the info center stack. And has the car been resprayed (front bumper, ect.. from use)? Beautiful and unique car. GLWA. Thank you for your time.

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 6 days, 7 hoursago

What a beautiful and unique 996!
I guess the only downside of this very special GT3 prototype is that an "ordinary" production GT3 has the oh-so-desirable Metzger engine. Apparently, with discussions regarding the IMS/RMS issue, this has the M96 engine.
That said, so does my 2001 996 C4 (130,000 miles) and my 2002 Boxster S. The 996 had the IMS done years ago and the Boxster, with 76,000 + miles, has never had it done. They are both entirely trouble-free.

  • Abuong01 6 days, 11 hoursago

Bid in the amount of $35,996

  • Flat993 (seller) 6 days, 14 hoursago

@rs4eva we have been holding on to it. This is the first month it could of been imported. Also, no record of IMS, but only has 22000 miles.
@IslaTurbine theres no Vin decal on drivers door.
It was manufactured 6/99. Please see pictures for proof.

  • rs4eva 6 days, 14 hoursago

Wow, what a find by the seller. I wonder if they have been holding onto this for the 25-year exemption or recently aquired it.

    IMS done?

  • IslaTurbine (registered bidder) 6 days, 14 hoursago

    @seller
Can we get a pic of the VIN decal located in the driver’s side door sill area? It contains the production date of the car and would be helpful to see.

  • pfbzzz 6 days, 15 hoursago

If only it 'previewed' the Mezger engine....

  • SafeWill (registered bidder) 6 days, 17 hoursago

I keep wondering what is the production date of the first GT3 and this Carrera brings some answer. I have one that was put on the road August 5th, so I guess built in July. I have to look at my documents but this Carrera is so unique.
I am also wondering why the fins on the rear bumper were not included in the GT3 version, if someone could chime in.
Anyway, thank you PCarMarket and the seller for presenting such a unicorn that is part of the first GT3 history built by Porsche.

  • NewWorldMatt (registered bidder) 6 days, 18 hoursago

Quite the story to tell with this one. As far as they went with this car, being purpose-built to preview the upcoming GT3, I am surprised to see they went with a sunroof.

  • MJTJT 6 days, 19 hoursago

😳 ,,,,,,,!!!! It’s definitely unique and worth whatever $$$$,,,,good luck not getting noticed in this MFR! #RonaldMcDonaldballercellphone
