Produced from 1988 to 1993, the Mondial t was the final iteration of Ferrari’s mid-engine four-seater grand touring cars and began a new generation of transverse-mounted V8 Ferraris as highlighted by the “t” suffix. It featured Ferrari’s first use of power steering, electronically controlled suspension, and a V8 engine with electronic fuel injection and Bosch DME engine management. One of 51 right-hand-drive examples, this 1990 Mondial t cabriolet is finished in Rosso Corsa over a Crema leather interior and features a 5-speed manual transmission with a gated shifter. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois showing less than 29k miles on the odometer.
The Mondial “t” version featured revised, smaller rectangular air intakes on its rear quarters, as well as body-colored bumpers, and fenders that were redesigned to allow for a wider track. This example is finished in Rosso Corsa with a black convertible top and a Crema tonneau cover. It rides on factory 16” alloy wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus V2 concept² tires from 2023 and the seller notes that the black window trim was refinished. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The 2+2 cabin presents a right-hand-drive configuration and is upholstered in Crema Connolly leather with contrasting red carpets, a 3-spoke black steering wheel, and a black dashboard. Equipment includes the iconic gated shifter assembly, power windows and door locks, automatic seatbelts, Ferrari-branded carpet floor mats, and air conditioning. The seller reports the interior to have been recently reconditioned, and that a Pioneer stereo has been fitted, along with an Alpine amplifier, and a Pioneer CD changer mounted in the front boot. All gauges and accessories are said to function as intended.
Powered by a 3.4-liter Tipo F119 “Dino” V8 featuring double overhead camshafts with four valves per cylinder, Bosch Motronic DME 2.5 engine management, and integrated electronic fuel injection, the Mondial t sends up to 300 HP and 239 lb.-ft. of torque to its rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission with a twin-plate clutch and a limited-slip differential. Standard performance equipment includes an anti-lock braking system (ABS), power-assisted steering, and a variable electronically controlled suspension. The seller reports a recent major service to have been performed.
This sale will include an air pump, a replica European “Mondial” license plate, some documentation, and a clean title.
