The 560SL was the range-topping version of the R107 SL-Series, the third generation of Mercedes-Benz flagship grand tourer. Produced from 1971 to 1989, the R107 is the second-longest production run in Mercedes-Benz history behind the mighty G-Class. Bearing the top trim level available at the time, the 560SL is powered by a 5.5-liter V8. This 1986 example comes finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather upholstery. Garage-kept by the fourth and current owner of approximately six years, this example is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.
This R107 is finished in Signal Red (568) with a black convertible soft top. Details include chrome trim, Additional features include North American-spec quad headlamps and front fog lights along with chrome-trimmed bumpers, window moldings, and mirror caps. It rides on polished 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels dressed in Summit Ultramax A/S tires mounted approximately 100 miles ago.
