Introduced as a new performance model to compete with the Plymouth Roadrunner in 1969, the Pontiac GTO Judge was named after Flip Wilson’s famous comedy routine on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In TV show. Featuring a distinctive decal package, rear spoiler, and wider tires, the Judge package was equipped for only 6,833 of the 72,287 Pontiac GTOs produced for the model year. This example is finished in Carousel Red over a black vinyl interior and includes an upgraded 455ci V8 engine paired with a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, coated headers, a B&M ratcheting shifter, Procar bucket seats, 15” weld wheels, and factory front disc brakes. The car is said to have been cared for by the same owner from 1981 until the early 2000s when it was purchased by the lead singer of Los Lonely Boys and eventually acquired by the seller in December 2023. This American muscle icon is now being offered for auction with a clean title out of Arkansas.

The Judge model was initially offered only in Carousel Red and features a unique rear spoiler, a Ram Air hood, and “The Judge” decals with matching stripes on each side. This example is said to have been refinished in Carousel Red in 2008 and features a body-colored Endura front bumper, dual body-colored mirrors, a hood-mounted tachometer, fog lights, and custom hidden headlights mounted behind a mesh grille. The rear bumper has been painted to match the body and the bottom of the car has been finished in black. The car rides on polished 15” Weld wheels mounted with Mickey Thomson ET Street tires in the rear and Champiro radial tires in front. The seller notes that the tires need to be replaced and some cosmetic imperfections can be seen around the exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The black vinyl interior features a pair of Procar front bucket seats, woodgrain trim, side panel stripes, a three-spoke Grant GT steering wheel, a ratcheting B&M shifter, and auxiliary gauges mounted below the dashboard. The seller notes an electrical issue with the dashboard tachometer, the speedometer needle fell off, and the odometer is not connected. One crack is also noted on the center of the original dashboard.

A replacement 455ci V8 engine was reportedly installed in 2008 and sends power to the rear wheels through a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. The car features a four-barrel carburetor, coated exhaust headers, an electric fuel pump, and factory power-assisted front disc brakes.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “This car is great it’s fun to drive it turns heads but it’s not fully original and it’s not perfect but at the end of the day it is a true judge and a piece of history it’s more than just a car it’s a piece of art.”
